Fortis Withdraws 2021 Distribution Tariff Application Phase II

FortisAlberta Inc. (Fortis) has requested to withdraw its 2021 Phase II Distribution Tariff Application (DTA) which the Commission has approved as of May 14, 2020. Readers may recall previous industry updates reviewing the DTA prior to the withdrawal.

EQUS REA Application to the Commission: Order FortisAlberta to Mirror REA and Fortis Rate Class Transmission Charges

EQUS REA Ltd. (“EQUS”) filed an application with the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) on August 10, 2018, requesting the Commission order FortisAlberta Inc. (“Fortis”) to flow-through transmission charges to REA customers in a manner consistent with Fortis rate classes.

AUC R&V on FORTIS Purchase of REA Assets

The AUC has issued decision 21768-D01-2017 on the Review & Variance of two decisions involving the sale of REA assets to FortisAlberta.  The R&V was initiated by the Commission after it found that the UCA had inadvertently been denied the opportunity to comment on whether the Kingman REA and VMN REA acquisition costs were prudently incurred.

EQUS Complaint Regarding FORTIS Option M

EQUS Rural Electrification Association (REA) has applied to the AUC to have FortisAlberta’s Terms & Conditions altered such that EQUS Distributed Generation (DG) customers on the EQUS system are eligible for FortisAlberta’s option M rate.
