In decision 22164-D01-2018, the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) granted FortisAlberta (Fortis) the REA service areas that overlap with municipal franchise areas (MFAs).

In Proceeding 22164, FortisAlberta is requesting that the AUC confirm the boundaries of its exclusive municipal franchise areas and order the transfer (from REAs) of any customers that end up in the utility’s exclusive franchise area as a result of the realignment of service areas.
